You learn something new every day
Research
We are in the learning business.
Our clients hire us to discover new and exciting things and our competitive edge depends on keeping the skills and abilities of our team as sharp as a knife.
So career long development and training is part of our psyche.
From day one, those in their first market research role join an Induction Programme to orientate and get a taste for the scope of our work.
Everyone is then enrolled in our Executive Development Programme.
This combines internal and external training courses, designed to build research expertise and develop management and business skills.
For more experienced recruits, or those progressing through the company, the programme is increasingly tailored to individual strengths or gaps.
Aside from the formal process, everyone learns 'on the job'.
Line managers and colleagues are expected to mentor on a project-by-project basis, and Insight has a team of coaches and support staff for 1 to 1 development.
You can probably teach us something too.
After all, you're never too old to learn.
Operations
It's not just the researchers who have their abilities stretched.
Our operations staff (in finance, admin, IT, secretarial, or the field and telephone teams) can also expect a daily workout.
It's more driven by department heads in consultation with line managers, but again a mix of on the job and formal training, internally and externally is the norm.
Even top brass don't escape, with every opportunity to hone their specialist skills or pursue their interests as their career unfolds.
Everyone has a Personal Development Plan designed to release his or her own potential.
Think of it like going to the gym.
It's hard work, but you feel fantastic for it.
